Most surf-shop directories are lists of businesses. This one is a database that understands surfboard repair specifically -- construction compatibility, service model, turnaround, and capabilities are tracked as real, sourced data, not assumed from a business's category. If we don't have reliable evidence for something, it's shown as unverified, not left blank and not guessed at.

How each listing is verified
Every business has an overall verification status, shown on its profile page, using one of four levels:
- Verified
- Directly confirmed by the business itself, or by a current, highly authoritative source.
- Owner-claimed
- Supplied by the business through a claim or submission, but not yet independently confirmed.
- Public source
- Supported by a current public source, like the business's own current website.
- Unverified
- Not enough reliable evidence yet either way -- shown honestly, not guessed at.
How each capability is verified
Below that, individual details -- does this shop repair dings? Do they work on EPS boards? -- are tracked separately and shown as Yes, Not offered, or Unverified on every profile. A business repairing surfboards doesn't automatically mean it repairs every construction or damage type: unknown stays unknown until it's actually confirmed, one way or the other.
Where the data comes from
A mix of a business's own current website and social accounts, public directories, direct outreach to the shop, and businesses claiming or submitting their own listing directly. Each piece of information keeps track of where it came from, so the verification status reflects the actual strength of the evidence behind it.
